Best clubs for 'good' dancing

Fairly laid back, liking most civilised activities – theatre, classical music, film, art in most of its forms, reading. Exercise regularly at the gym – so am ready for any skiing that's available. Also interested in classic cars - vehicles that have a certain appeal because of their age.

Are there any regular nights or clubs where they aim to provide simply great, normal dance music, which isn't too loud, and which has the appeal of the best office/wedding/graduation party music?

(I once went to Horse Meat Disco and should have left when I realised I had to lip read the barman - I eventually left when the wrong men started taking their shirts off, but that's another forum topic.)

I am thinking about the graduation party in the film 'It's complicated' (starring Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin) where you know immediately it's fiction because the music is too good. If only I could find somewhere in London that plays irresistible music, where I am not expected to be on drugs or wearing ear plugs to be able to enjoy it.

Music that is as appealing as some of the stuff produced by Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Lady GaGa, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind and Fire, etc. The kind of music which is just floor filling, which they often play on Capital or Heart.

Or should I try to get myself invited to more weddings?
