Hello everyone!

The East London Out Project (ELOP) is looking for people who are interested in helping out with the charity's on-going work in the LGB&T community. This can be via volunteering some of your time / expertise to the organisation and/or by providing a regular donation to them.

ABOUT THE CHARITY:

ELOP is an innovative lesbian and gay mental health charity based in East London (Walthamstow). The community-led organisation was established in 1995 with the aim to promote the mental health, wellbeing, empowerment and equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities.

Over the years, ELOP has been providing information, advice, advocacy, counselling and support services, plus other social and community activities and events to north and east London's LGBT communities. Their holistic approach and belief that health and well-being (whether this be mental, psychological, emotional, physical, social or even community), can not really be fully achieved or maintained without recognition or the opportunity for all the concerns of a person's ‘whole self' to be addressed. By having a range of services, ELOP is able to refer those using one service into another for additional support, information or advice as appropriate.

In addition to operating direct community frontline services, ELOP also delivers second-tier work which includes providing information, training, consultancy and support to statutory and voluntary sector policy makers, managers, service providers and their staff teams!

If you are interested in finding out more about the organisation and how to become involved in their work (whether as a volunteer and/or providing a regular donation etc), there is an AGM event in Canary Wharf on TUESDAY 25TH OCTOBER, 2011 - from 6:30pm til 9pm.

It's not as formal as it sounds, but it is an ideal chance for you to find out more information as to how you can support a very worthy cause, and of course share in the celebrations to help ELOP mark their continued commitment to supporting LGB&T communities and the promotion of LGB&T equality.

If you would like to attend please send me a message directly, and I will add your name to the guest list.

Thanks for reading, and I hope to see some of you there!
