The new orange ad is out!

They've decided to drop their long standing tag line ('The future's bright') and have plumbed for a much more humanistic approach.... But is it now too similar to the other mobile network ads?

Check it out below:

To be honest, me and my flatmates watched it last night and thought it was dull as hell...

Only when the final bit came on we were like "Oh, Orange? That's fucking shit"

Another of those ads that, because of current trends in marketing, really could be for any product from any company.

Have they recently changed agency or is this from the same marketing "brains"?

I watch very little TV and so see few ads, but this one intrigued me when I saw it (and liked it). I had no idea what it was advertising until the end, which has made it memorable and therefore it's achieved its purpose for me. I can't remember what the other ads are, or if I've even seen them. I want an iPhone so remember the ads with that in but are they for O2 or iPhone?

But has it made you want to switch to Orange, or given you any true idea about what they offer you as a customer? A lot of these firms measure their marketing success in terms of brand recognition, so yes it may well have achieved that purpose - and I think it's a pretty beautifully shot ad - but I'm not sure it makes me feel warm and fuzzy about Orange and I'm in no rush to ditch my Vodafone contract and suddenly run back to Orange... who lost me as a customer many years ago (though I can't even remember why!).

I have no idea what Orange have to offer! If I go anywhere, it'll be to O2. But I'll have to be proactive about that.

I did notice this ad and wondered what the hell it was for but I found it vagely disappointing to see it was Orange: they used to have very distinctive advertising and even the animal ballons coming out of the train were sort of fun ...

This seems very run of the mill ... Beautifully done but a waste of effort ..

And as an Orange customer, it seems very distant from their very un-human, profit driven customer service!
