I've been getting pain at the base of a thumb now for some time, it is pretty permanent, but not intolerable, but now I'm sure I can feel the onset of something similar at the base of my middle finger, same hand. |

Just one hand? And is it your dominant hand? If yes, it's much more likely to be RSI (repetitive strain injury) or just pulled muscles or tendens, which should go within a few days providing you don't strain the same muscles again in the meantime. Taking ibuprofen should help (nurafen or similar), as it will reduce any inflamation - but check whether you are ok with it (read the instructions on the pack). |

It could be arthuritis or rhumatizz - if it doesn't go away within a week and you don't want to go to the doc, try Glucosamine Sulphate and Chondroitin Sulphate tablets from Boots. (Google up the constitutents if you like.) |
