Why should the sight of something dead cause me to want to (and almost did) throw up? The 'body' in question was a rat, which I found in a corner of the garden this morning, a long time dead and partially decomposed. I had to move it with a shovel, and while doing so gagged three times, really having to fight off the urge to throw up. But why? It wasn't particularly gruesome, just a dead, rather soggy and partially maggot-eaten rat. Can't understand the body's reflex reaction - can you? |

I think it may be the bodys natural defense mechanism left over from thousands of years of evolution. |
