I am in the last months of an MSc in Gerontology, which is the study of age and ageing, at Southampton University. My Dissertation is on the informal social support networks of older lesbians, gay men and bisexual people. A lesbian myself, I am interested in the extent to which formal social care might be needed, how people would like this to be provided, and by whom. I am hoping to take this on to PhD level and contribute to the shaping of social policy in this area. I am asking members of various gay, lesbian and bisexual social network sites, aged 45 and over, to answer an online questionnaire. The questionnaire is completely anonymous. I shall be conducted follow-up interviews with a small cross-section of people and at the end of the questionnaire it asks if you would wish to be one of them. You will also be offered feedback, including a copy of my final dissertation. Please feel free to email me with any questions you might have to sw2y07@soton.ac.uk. If you would like to proceed straight away, please click on this link to the questionnaire: |
