Why do I find cider such a diuretic?

Over the past few months it's dawned on me that cider makes me pee by the bucket load. It is a fact that alcohol is a diuretic but no other drink has the same effect as cider on me.

I did an experiment. One night I drank one can of cider and the next night I drank two glasses of wine (175ml each) and two pints of Guinness. The night that I drank cider I woke up in the middle of the night needing to pee. The next night you might think that I'd wake up simply with the need to shed all that excess liquid but I slept through to the next morning quite happily and peed normally when I got up. Also, two glasses of wine and two pints of Guinness is about as much as I usually drink in three or four days.

So why does cider make me pee so much? (As an aside, I have an allergy to most beer, the exception being stout. Most beer gives me a violent migraine within minutes of drinking it and most migraines seem also to make me pee. I know for certain that they're migraines because 5HT agonist drugs deal with them.)

Does anyone else have any odd reactions to cider, beer or other alcohol, while not having the reaction with some other alcoholic drinks?
