Christies King Street St James's Simon Sainsbury An English Arcadia last day of sale preview - fantastic collection ( by a wealthy gay man) of english art 1600-1960, plus Impressionism and post-impressionism plus furniture including stunning chinese Chippendale.
White Cube, Masons Yard, off Duke street Jake and Dinos Chapman 'If Hitler was a Hippy How Happy Would We Be?'
This is one of the most powerful modern art exhibitions I have ever seen. It falls into three parts. Room One is filled with hackneyed C19 portraits which they have defaced in a very gruesome and macabre way. Room Two- over the last two years the Chapmans have bought every Adolf Hitler daub that has come on the market and these have been defaced with hippy insignia, mostly rainbows. Room 3, their huge installation of human degradation and torture , Hell, which was destroyed in the Momart fire , here recreated and augmented.Totally absorbing.
I'm going to see these exhibitions next Tuesday at 2pm if anyone would like top join me
