Okies so a couple of weeks ago I managed to spill coke over my once shiny iBook, and its been a bit unhappy with me since - sticky keys (which I could live with), and the screen now randomly switches off, depending on the angle it is to the keyboard.

Now I think this second symptom is because coke got into the mechanism that determines where the screen is in relation to the keyboard, so I thought I'd strip it down and see if there was anything needing cleaned or the like.

Alas there was nothing that I could see that I could change.... So I've still got a slightly temperamental screen, but at least the keyboard is working now!

And I only had one screw left over, out of the 30 or so I took out. Not too bad I think! Plus it still works! Hurrah!

But field stripping a notebook isn't easy :(.
